Hosanna Wong

Hosanna Wong’s latest book “Uncomplicate It” moves in a direction that feels both practical and quietly freeing. Known for her spoken-word background and direct style, Wong turns her attention to a familiar tension: the sense that a “good” relationship with God has to follow a certain formula.

Her argument is simple. It doesn’t.

Drawing from Scripture, personal experience and conversations with more than a thousand believers, Wong suggests that many of the expectations Christians carry aren’t coming from God at all. Instead of pushing readers toward a fixed routine, she invites them to notice how their personality, season of life and even limitations might shape the way they connect with God.

At the center of the book is a steady refrain: faith isn’t one-size-fits-all. As Wong puts it, “your relationship with God must [not] look like someone else’s.” Another line sharpens the point: “God wants a relationship with the real you.”

“Uncomplicate It” doesn’t try to overhaul a reader’s life overnight. It works more like a reset — naming the pressure, clearing some of the noise and offering a way forward that feels honest. The result is less about doing more, and more about paying attention to what’s already there.
