Tasha Layton is pairing music with storytelling in her new song and short film, “Meet Me in the Valley.” Inspired by a three-day solo trip to Death Valley, the project follows Layton as she steps away from the noise of everyday life to pray, fast, and spend time with God in silence. The short film premiered on YouTube alongside the song, which also features Ben Fuller on a new version.

Rather than presenting a polished spiritual breakthrough, the film leans into stillness and uncertainty. Layton documents moments of solitude in the desert while reflecting on seasons of struggle and the ways faith can deepen in difficult places. The song carries that same theme, framing the “valley” as a place where God remains present even when life feels unclear.

“I’m so thankful to be releasing ‘Meet Me In The Valley’ with my friend Ben Fuller,” Layton shared. “Ben and I both understand valleys because of what we’ve walked through in life.” She added that her hope is listeners “hear our testimonies in our voices.”

Layton has also said the film grew out of a simple question: “What happens when everything gets quiet enough to finally hear God?”
