The Kendrick Brothers, known for films like “War Room” and “Facing the Giants,” return with “The Forge,” a movie focused on themes of discipleship, personal growth and staying true to the faith, especially in the face of cultural pressures.
Directed by Alex Kendrick, who co-wrote the script with Stephen Kendrick, “The Forge” continues the brothers’ tradition of faith-based storytelling. The movie stars Priscilla Shirer, well-known for her roles in previous Kendrick films and her impactful Christian ministry.
In a recent interview, Alex Kendrick made it clear that the goal of “The Forge” isn't to win Academy Awards but to help align the Church with Scripture. He explained, “We want to go after the hearts, minds and lives of the viewers because love will desire God’s best for them in every area of their lives.”
The movie has made a strong debut in theaters, even soaring into the top five at the box office and earning an “A+” CinemaScore. Featuring a standout performance by Aspen Kennedy, it’s resonating deeply with Christian audiences.
