Big Daddy Weave
After six years, Big Daddy Weave is back with “Let It Begin,” a fifteen-track album shaped by loss, healing and the kind of quiet faith that keeps going. Following the death of founding member Jay Weaver in 2022, the band found themselves in unfamiliar territory — without their brother, but still with something to say.
The songs lean into themes of surrender, gratitude and renewal without getting overly polished or preachy. Tracks like “Let It Begin” and “Be Yours” offer a calm confidence that feels grounded in real experience. “We’ve been through the wringer,” lead singer Mike Weaver says. “But even in the hardest places, God is still meeting us. That’s what these songs are about.”
Mike calls the project “an invitation to start again,” pointing to a creative shift as the band’s first full-length release on their new label, Integrity Music. Still, longtime fans will recognize the warmth and honesty that’s been there all along — just now through the lens of fresh perspective.
“Let It Begin” doesn’t try to wrap everything up neatly. Instead, it sits with the questions and trusts that healing is still possible — even in the waiting.
