‘Equipped to Serve’: Southeastern’s New Podcast

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary has launched “Equipped to Serve,” a new podcast aimed at helping pastors and ministry leaders connect theological education with the everyday work of serving the local church.

Hosted by Southeastern president Scott Pace and vice president for institutional advancement Jonathan Six, the podcast debuted September 3 and will release new episodes every other week during the fall and spring semesters. The first season brings in Southeastern faculty from different disciplines to talk through practical questions facing church leaders.

Topics range from developing leadership skills as a young pastor and approaching short-term missions well to starting a church counseling ministry and building a congregation that values theology. The idea is to make conversations that might begin in a seminary classroom useful for people already serving in ministry.

“Through ‘Equipped to Serve,’ my hope is that our content and conversations will serve as helpful resources for equipping leaders for the work of ministry,” Six said.

Pace said the show is designed to engage theological, ministry and cultural issues in an accessible way, with guests offering informed perspectives and practical guidance. Episodes are available through Southeastern’s website and major podcast platforms.
