Jenn Johnson
Jenn Johnson has spent years as one of the defining voices of Bethel Music. With “HAPPY,” her debut solo album, she steps into a more personal space, sharing stories shaped by family, faith, grief, gratitude and everyday life. Released May 22, the 12-track project brings together worship songs, reflective moments, and collaborations with friends and fellow artists including Tiffany Hudson, Brooke Ligertwood, Kari Jobe, Brian Johnson, Gable Price and Abbie Gamboa.
The album’s title points to something deeper than simple optimism. Johnson describes “HAPPY” as “a mosaic — a walk through my life,” adding, “Moments of joy, moments of heartbreak, seasons of growing, and seasons of healing. But through it all, God is present.”
That theme runs throughout the record. Songs like “Walk With Me” and “Here In Your Arms” reflect trust, love and companionship, while “Mad At God” was written during a season of grief following the loss of her mother-in-law. Rather than avoiding difficult questions, the song makes room for honest conversations with God.
Produced by Josh Holiday and Paul Mabury, “HAPPY” offers a glimpse into Johnson’s own journey. After years of helping lead worship for others, this collection feels like an invitation into the stories that have shaped her faith.
