for KING + COUNTRY’s new documentary, “No Turning Back,” arrived November 23 on Prime Video and offers a grounded look at the long road the Smallbone brothers traveled to become one of Christian music’s most recognizable acts.
The film traces their move from Australia to the U.S., the early years of odd jobs and stalled efforts, and the string of setbacks that nearly shut everything down. It also sits with the more personal moments — health challenges, discouragement and the pressure of trying to build something meaningful while life keeps shifting around them.
“You’ve asked what happened after ‘Unsung Hero,’” the band shared. “We wanted to show you the highs, the lows and everything in between.” That balance shapes the tone of the documentary: steady, unvarnished and focused on the real work that sits underneath the stage lights.
Rather than framing their journey as a dramatic rise, “No Turning Back” highlights the quiet persistence, family support and faith that carried them forward. The result is a sincere portrait of two brothers learning to hold on to calling and craft — even when the path is anything but easy.
