Jennie Allen
Bestselling author and Bible teacher Jennie Allen is encouraging Christians to stop striving and start resting in God’s love with her new devotional, “When Jesus Is Everything: 365 Days of Faith, Purpose, and Freedom in Christ.”
Released October 6 through Thomas Nelson, the book offers a year’s worth of daily Scripture, reflections and prayers centered on trusting God, letting go of control and finding freedom in Christ.
Allen, the founder of IF and Gather25, draws from lessons she’s learned throughout her own faith journey. Rather than treating spiritual growth as another task to accomplish, she encourages readers to release the pressure of constantly trying to measure up.
“That is the power of the Cross. What Jesus did for us so we don’t have to strive. We get God because of what Jesus did for us,” Allen told Woman’s World.
The devotional also addresses everyday struggles like anxiety, people-pleasing and knowing when to say no. Allen hopes its short, accessible readings will help people connect with God even during busy seasons of life.
Ultimately, her goal isn’t for readers to finish another reading plan, but to experience a more peaceful relationship with Jesus.
“I hope every day is an exhale,” she said.
