Christie Purifoy
Christie taught English literature to University of Chicago undergraduates before moving into the kind of house that literature was often set in: Maplehurst, an old brick farmhouse in West Grove, Pennsylvania. She lives there with her husband, Jonathan, and their four children. Christie is Rapt’s first Contributing Writer and writes, she says, about ordinary days lived in an ordinary place, “which means, of course, that I write about the most miraculous things and a place that is like no other on earth.”
