Christie Purifoy
Christie taught English literature to University of Chicago undergraduates before moving into the kind of house the literature was set in, Maplehurst, an old brick farmhouse in West Grove, Pennsylvania. She lives there with her husband, Jonathan, and their four children. She is Rapt’s first Contributing Writer and has written six books about house and garden. She writes, she says, about ordinary days lived in an ordinary place, “which means, of course, that I write about the most miraculous things and a place that is like no other on earth.” Christie, at greater length — and with flowers.
